Meet the Artist

Hello! I am Roshni Ahimaz, the artist behind the brand Wonky Trumpet.

I create from my home studio in Nhulunbuy, a tropical, costal town in the Northern Territory where I live with my husband, two boys and my beloved Jack Russel.

Art has always been a part of my life. I have always dreamt of doing something creative and meaningful for a living, however it was only in the year 2019 that I truly began to entertain the idea of being a full time artist. Since making this decision I have been on a path of constant learning and exploration of styles, colour and techniques. I describe my ever evolving style as elegant with a touch of whimsy.  

While my first love is to work with watercolours I do love experimenting with other mediums and textures. I am constantly inspired by the natural world around me and feel passionate about bringing a sense of positivity and wonder through my work.

When not painting or day-dreaming, you will find me pottering about in my garden, exploring the great outdoors with my boys or reading a good book with a hot cuppa.
